A iniciativa teve início em 5 comunidades carentes do Rio de Janeiro, vinculadas às Unidades Básicas de Saúde (UBS) da região. O projeto AP 2.2 tem como objetivo trabalhar a educação em saúde e geração de renda em parceria com a Estratégia de Saúde da Família, criando um espaço de suporte e acompanhamento da saúde mental das mulheres envolvidas, além de trabalhar o desenvolvimento de hábitos saudáveis. Com o projeto, as mulheres se empoderam e podem buscar uma fonte de renda, através da venda dos artesanatos produzidos nos encontros. Este foi um dos seis projetos premiados na II Conferência Nacional de Saúde da Mulher, e surgiu a partir do Laboratório de Inovação sobre a Participação Social na Atenção à Saúde das Mulheres (Lipaps), da Universidade Estadual do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). Lá fomos conhecer uma bela experiência do Programa Saúde na Escola. Além serem feitas avaliações antropométricas e de acuidade visual, o município criou o “Teatro do PSE” que aborda temas como obesidade, saúde bucal, auditiva e ocular, combate ao Aedes aegypti, incentivo à atividade física e prevenção de DST/Aids. Após a apresentação teatral as temáticas são debatidas dentro do currículo escolar com a participação de diversos profissionais do SUS. E neste ínterim também conhecemos um projeto singular: o “Arte por toda parte”. Idealizado por uma professora da Escola Padre Itamar Luiz da Costa, do bairro Guaiúba, envolve escola, unidade de saúde, pais, colaboradores e alunos.
