No Brasil existem mais de 6 mil aldeias, com quase 800 mil indígenas de 416 etnias. Apesar de estarem, muitas vezes, distantes dos centros urbanos, a aproximação de pessoas de fora, inclusive profissionais de saúde, se houver escassez de insumos e Equipamento de Proteção Individual (EPI), já os colocam em risco de contaminação. Os dados registrados pela Secretaria Especial de Saúde Indígena (SESAI) em 18/5, até o fechamento desse texto, são 402 casos confirmados de Covid-19 entre os indígenas, 151 suspeitos, 219 recuperados, 497 casos descartados e 23 óbitos.O programa apresenta matérias mostrando como a população indígena, em certas regiões do Brasil, se sente afetada pela pandemia do novo coronavírus. O que está funcionando ou faltando para essa população enfrentar a atual crise de saúde.
